The Buffalo City Metro, like Mthatha and many other cities around the country, faces the huge and persistent challenge of urban decay. One of the major features of this anomaly is abandoned buildings.
Currently, BCM has 20 rundown buildings, mostly in the East London CBD and affluent suburbs.
Some of these used to be bustling offices serving thousands of people in the metro and now stand as silent reminders of a past that no longer serves the present.
