The Inspector General of Police (IGP) this week ordered a series of coordinated raids on illegal mining towns known for rampant galamsey activities, particularly those taking place within settlements and along major highways in the Western, Ashanti, and Central Regions. A total of 30 suspects were arrested during separate operations conducted at Wassa Dadieso, Wassa Gyapa, Akrokerri, and Huniso near Tarkwa.
