Fatal accident on Cape Coast-Takoradi-Accra kills 19-year old, injures 4 others A 19-year old, Wilfred Awusi Ninson, has been killed in a fatal crash on Tuesday, June 19, 2025. The crash, which occured on the main Cape Coast-Takoradi-Accra highway around 12.48 noon Tuesday, involved a Donfeng tipper truck, a Nissan Sentra saloon car, a Honda CRV 4x4 and an apsonic motor tricycle. According to a police report released by the Cape Coast Polce command, the tipper truck with registration number GN 5710-19, with a sand load from Bronyibima, veered of the road on reaching the West gate of the University of Cape Coast, crashing into the stationery Nissan Sentra saloon car with registration number CR 1756-12, Honda CRV 4x4 with registration number CR 319-20, and the apsonic motor tricycle with registration number yet known. The 19-year old Wilfred Awusi Ninson was pronounced dead at the University of Cape Coast hospital, where all the crash victims were rushed to. The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the morgue of the same hospital. Per the police report, the suspect drivers and victims are receiving treatment at the University of Cape Coast hospital, and are in stable condition. Meanwhile, the tipper truck driver, Bright Essel, 29, is in police custody assisting with investigations.
