The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has confirmed that the government has set a final deadline for the rollout of 5G infrastructure by the Next-Generation Infrastructure Company (NGIC), following delays in meeting earlier commitments. Speaking at a press briefing in Accra on Thursday, July 3, Mr George revealed that NGIC, Ghana’s exclusive neutral shared infrastructure provider for 4G and 5G services, had failed to meet its previously stated target of activating over 350 5G cell sites by June 2025.
